I still have a hard time believing that Jason Williams is 35 years old and he has been in the league for 12 years. This isn’t the first time he has said he is going to retire.
He is sort of like a boxer in that regard.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Jason Williams said Monday he’s retiring after 12 years in the NBA.
The former Florida Gator played two stints with the Grizzlies in his career, from 2001-05 and again this season after being signed as a free agent in February.
Williams, 35, had missed the last 17 games with back soreness after averaging 2.0 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 27 games with the Orlando Magic and Memphis this season.
You don’t get a better nickname than “White Chocolate”, sounded like he should have been in a starring role in Welcome Back Kotter or the White Shadow.
