Manny Ramirez has retired a week into his 18th season and first with the Tampa Bay Rays.  The surprise announcement looks to be a result of Manny’s unwillingness to continue in the MLB joint drug prevention and treatment program. Manny would be subject to a 100 game suspension after testing positive for a performance enhancing drug.

There are no comments from Ramirez at this time, but surely they are to come.

  3. Craig says:

His heart and respect for the game has been long gone. This was the nail in the coffin for Manny.
