Taj Gibson’s soul-stealing dunk over Dwyane Wade during Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday has been talked about nearly as much (or maybe even more) than the Bulls’ eventual 103-82 win over the Heat.
It’s no surprise that it will take some time for D-Wade to live that down on Twitter. But you’d think he wouldn’t have to deal with it at home. You’d be wrong.
I had 2 laugh at ths..I was playing my oldest son Zaire on his nerf rim & he dunked & said Gibson while screaming..L2MS Kids u gotta luv em
Man, that’s a rough crowd. It’s good to see that Wade doesn’t take himself too seriously over this. Play long enough and eventually you’re going to get slammed on. It’s better to just roll with it as opposed to trying to pretend it didn’t happen (see: James, LeBron v. Crawford, Jordan).
But if you’re Dwyane Wade or anyone else drawing a paycheck from the Miami Heat, you need this to be the last time we’re talking about something like this. Yes, Taj Gibson is playing very well so far in the playoffs, but if he (or any other members of Chicago’s “Bench Mob”) start making too many headlines, it probably means curtains for you.
