Matt Leinhart and Pete Carroll To Reunite?

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll may be interested in acquiring QB Matt Leinart. Leinart currently holds a roster spot with the Houston Texans and is at the bottom of their depth chart.

Carroll of course coached Leinart at USC where he led the Trojans to a National Championship and won the Heisman trophy. Since Leinart has left USC his career has gone downhill. Drafted by Arizona Leinart played second fiddle to Kurt Warner and after Warner retired he was beat out by Derek Anderson.

I don’t want to say that Leinhart’s career since college has been a bust, but if bust isn’t the correct word to describe it comes pretty close. The last time Leinart played was in 2009-10 where he played a total of 8 games and threw for 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Sounds promising for Seattle…right?

Once the lockout is over current Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck will be a free agent and I guess they are trying to have a backup plan.I don’t know how much of a backup plan Leinart will be, but since he had the most success of his athletic career under Pete Carroll maybe it’s worth a shot.
