I have known Belal Abdelfattah for a couple of years now. One of the sharpest basketball minds in the business. If you go through his articles you will see he has never done anything closely related to gossip.
So when the Shannon Brown story came up, I asked him a simple question.
Did he trust his sources?
He said yes and that was good enough for me. I find it slightly hypocritical of some, to say that we shouldn’t have released the story when over the years we have gotten to the bottom of many stories that the mainstream media wouldn’t touch.
It is fine that Shannon Brown denied the report, what else is he going to do regardless if it is true or false.
In almost all these cases the trust is only known about the parties involved. Pau Gasol knows the truth and that is all that really matters.

We are not in the business of changing opinions, we are in the business of giving opinions. Belal gave his opinion on what he believes happened. If you don’t agree with it, that is well within you right.
We don’t “Mendenhall” people who visit BSO, we aren’t trying to please everybody or be everyone’s buddy. Our job is to provide sports and sports entertainment news with takes that you wouldn’t get anywhere else.
Some are going to make you happy, some will make you smile and some you will be upset about it.
That’s all ok.
We are fair and unbiased. If Shannon Brown says he didn’t break lamps with Gasol’s woman, we will report that. I will take it at face value and keep it moving. Unlike some who would continue to try to sway your opinion, we don’t do that here.
Brown says it is untrue and Belal trust his sources.
This isn’t the Matrix, you are allowed to make your own choices. Choose what is best for you.
