Tyler Hamilton Snitches on Lance Armstrong Says He Used PEDs

by Robert Littal | Posted on Thursday, May 19th, 2011

It is my opinion that Lance Armstrong used Performance Enhancing Drugs, but that is all it is, just an opinion. There has never been any proof though against Armstrong.

Similar to Sammy Sosa without any proof I don’t think you should hold it against them even if you believe it to be true. Armstrong who has been under investigation for years, now has a former teammate willing to throw him under the bus.

A former teammate of Lance Armstrong has told CBS News that he used performance-enhancing drugs with the seven-time Tour de France winner to cheat in cycling races, including the tour.

Tyler Hamilton says Armstrong took a blood-booster called EPO in the 1999 Tour and before the race in 2000 and 2001. Armstrong won the race every year from 1999-2005.

I could see if Hamilton was under pressure from the Feds, but this just looks like he wants a quick 15 minutes of fame. While I do believe him, the question once again begs where is the proof?

If not it is just another accusation in a long list of accusations and hearsay against Armstrong.

    Hey Robert,

Just discovered your site a few days ago, I really like your writing and analysis. Anyway, the weird thing about Lance Armstrong is this- hypothetically speaking, with so much cheating in cycling the last few years could you imagine that anyone could actually win the Tour without leveling the field by doing it too? (much less run off 7 Tour de France wins in a row.) I’d also guess that Lance did it too, though without any conclusive evidence it’s really hard to say (inside I want him to be clean.) Major sports are so competitive where swimmers will shave their body hair to trim .01 seconds off their time, if doping in cycling gives any competitive advantage at all the deck is really stacked if you’re clean. It’s just a horrible situation all around, both cycling and baseball unfortunately have this dark shadow over them that covers the dirty and clean athletes.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
