Carolina Panthers center Ryan Kalil took to twitter today to initiate the return of Jake Delhomme to the franchise he once led to the Super Bowl. In anticipation of the almost certain release of Delhomme by the Cleveland Browns, Kalil has decided to spur Panther officials to reach out to Delhomme via twitter:
Delhomme’s days with Browns “are numbered?” Dear Marty Hurney, (slow chant) bring him back..bring him back..bring him back…BRING HIM BACK!“We’ve got to talk about where we want to head as far as the veteran back up is concerned.’’ – Ron Rivera #BringJakeBack
Having a veteran presence to influence a rookie quarterback is the norm in the NFL these days. Veterans can influence rookies in preparing for games and how to react to specific in-game situations. Having a more experienced older quarterback on duty can serve as a benefit to a green eyed kid trying to adjust to the speed of the NFL.
Delhomme is easily the greatest quarterback to ever suit up for the Panthers…in their defense, the franchise hasn’t been around long.
With that being said, I don’t know how beneficial it would be for Cam Newton to learn all the methods to be awful. In other news, NFC South defensive players have began to show support for this move as well.
