The Heat have been in Miami for some years now, they shouldn’t have to instruct their fans on how to “cheer”. But they have been doing it consistently since the South Beach NWO walked into the building.
I don’t think the home court will make much of a difference tonight or if there is a game 7, if the Heat win the NBA Finals they will do so because they are the better team.
The Mavs have no fear of playing in Miami (I didn’t think the Mavs home crowd bothered the Heat much), but with that being said here is the the email.
Deadspin.com revealed an email sent out by the Miami Heat to season ticket holders. In the message, the Heat encouraged fans to show up in white and comfortable shoes because “you need to be standing from the opening tip ’til the final buzzer”.
The Heat also suggested calling out of work on Monday (for Tuesday’s game, if necessary) and ended the email with a Charles Barkley (a self-proclaimed Heat hater) rant about the fans in Miami.
Pretty pathetic to be honest, that you have to give the fans extra motivation by using Charles Barkley quotes. The email will fall on deaf ears, it will still be a late arriving corporate celebrity crowd that won’t do much to help the home team.
In the end the players will decide the game not the fans
