Unless the Orlando Magic, New Orleans Hornets or New Jersey Nets are calling the Lakers shouldn’t entertain any offers for Andrew Bynum or Pau Gasol. Bynum maybe injury prone, but at his age he is much better than any player in this current draft.
I would have laugh if I was the Lakers when I received this phone call.
An Andrew Bynum trade request has come from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Apparently Minnesota wants Bynum, and extended a trade offer to the Los Angeles Lakers. This continues to activity surrounding the Timberwolves as they try to make moves that will help the franchise improve for the 2011-12 NBA season.
According to Sam Amick at Sports Illustrated, “As Minnesota continues search for high-level player in exchange for No. 2 pick, source says T-Wolves made offer for Bynum.”
That confirms that rumor that Minnesota would like to add Bynum as their starting center, but it doesn’t clear up what the offer might have looked like. It wouldn’t have included Kevin Love going to the Lakers, because general manager David Kahn doesn’t want to trade him. That leaves either the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft or lowball offer for Bynum that the Lakers didn’t even consider accepting.
With the NBA Draft coming up, expect to hear more of these crazy trade rumors to surface. Take them all for the with a grain of salt.
