ESPN’s Michael Smith, the ever fashionable New Orleans native, is set to co-host his own show along with newbie Charissa Thompson (@CharissaT). The show has been titled Numbers Never Lie and will debut on September 12, 2011.
Michael Smith, a graduate of Loyola University, began his career with ESPN in September 2004 after spending 3 years at the Boston Globe covering the New England Patriots. Smith is a regular panelist on Around the Horn and on January 20, 2011 he set the scoring record with 64 points, a record that was previously held by Jackie MacMullan with 61 points.
For the more than 94,000 Tweeters that follow Michael Smith (@MrMichael_Smith), they are well aware of his occasionally charismatic, frequently sarcastic, sometimes honest, always down to Earth approach to sports and his love of providing advice on everything from romance to how to get into the business. Smith’s followers also enjoy his propensity to engage in Twitter arguments with the less civil Tweeters.
In addition to Around the Horn, Smith can be seen fairly regularly on NFL Live, E:60, SportsNation, Sports Reporters and First Take.
Congratulations Mr. Smith on your well deserved achievement. New Orleans is proud of you. Best of luck!
