Here is the thing about bar/club fights, it doesn’t matter who starts the fight, the person who wins the fight is normally the one who gets charged with the crime.

Also if you group up on an individual you are more likely to be accused of being the instigator.

Former Villanova guard Corey Stokes found this out the hard way.

Recently graduated Villanova basketball star and Bayonne resident Corey Stokes has been charged with two other Bayonne men in a Hoboken assault that left one alleged victim in surgery for a broken jaw.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning at One Hudson Place in Hoboken, where the defendants “did punch and kick (one victim) about the head and body. This did cause a fractured jaw and require surgery,” the complaints say. “The victim lost consciousness and was assaulted while unconscious on the ground,” the complaints say.

The complaints said the men punched and kicked a second man about the head and body, causing injuries such as lacerations above both eyebrows, inside his lower lip and in the back of his head. He also lost consciousness and was assaulted while on the ground, the complaints say.

Stokes wasn’t selected in the NBA Draft and this probably won’t help his free agent options whenever the NBA Lockout ends.

  3. Dam thats crazy. If your a free agent you should not be participating in dumb things like this. Its like that one nfl rookie who failed a drug test at the combine. Its not like he didn’t know that they will test for drugs.

Just another dumb athlete added to the list

  4. I initially moved to Southern Florida 5 calendar years ago (2007). I remained down here for about 9 months at that time and advanced to ramble around the country. Inside a year of departing I decided to come back for good, it was the reeffishing that called me back. Presently there is absolutely nothing like it, if you have never fished South Florida then you are missing out– that simple.
