Albert Haynesworth Won’t Play Tonight…Roster Spot in Jeopardy With Pats?

It is still unlikely that Patriots would cut Haynesworth, but you have to wonder what value does he have to the team. For someone who has a reputation for being out of shape and lazy, he isn’t doing much to shed that label with the Pats.

Here are the details.

The Patriots play the Lions tonight in Detroit. One guy who won’t be playing is defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

Tom Curran of CSNNE.com reports that, even though Haynesworth has practiced all week, he’s not expected to make his game-situation debut in New England’s Week Three contest.

I have said from the beginning that Haynesworth wouldn’t be anything more than situational player with the Patriots at best. This wasn’t Reggie White coming to the Packers.

In the end we will see if Fat Albert even makes the opening day roster.
