Cedric Benson to Serve 20 Days in Jail During Bengals Bye Week

No word on how Gotti Goodell is going to handle this, but for now Benson’s Lawyers did a decent job to make sure he didn’t spend a long time in jail.

The Big Lead has the details.

Cedric Benson, the starting running back of the Cincinnati Bengals, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge and was sentenced to 20 days in jail. Assistant Travis County Attorney Corby Holcomb – what a great Texas name that is – said Benson will probably only spend a week in jail due to good behavior.

This incident was a bar fight where Benson claimed a bunch of white guys jumped him.  He still has a case out for beating up his roommate.

Good to see the Bengals are cleaning up their roster.
