Raiders Lose Pro Bowl TE Zach Miller to Seahawks
First Nnamdi Asomugha leaves, now its Pro Bowl tight end Zach Miller that’s leaving for another team — and just like that the Oakland Raiders have lost two keys players, one on each side of the ball.
Miller led the team with 60 receptions in 2011 and 65 the year before. He was the top pass-catcher for the Raiders and an instrumental part of their red-zone offense. Former Raiders head coach and current Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable was a big part in helping to lure Miller from Oakland. After visiting Cable and head coach Pete Carroll, Miller decided that Seattle was where he wanted to be — signing a 5-year 34-million dollar contract with the Seahawks to become their starting tight end.
For the Raiders, it’s time to regroup and center their offense around other threats such as Darrius Heyward-Bey and Darren McFadden.
On the Seahawks side, it’s safe to say that the city of Seattle is happy to pair Miller alongside the recently acquired Sidney Rice in their new-look revamped offense.
However, a legitimate starting quarterback wouldn’t hurt either ..
