Jake Locker is battling a wrist injury in Tennessee and Zach Mettenberger is quite there yet, so the old veteran himself, Charlie Whitehurst, is likely to be under center for the Titans on Sunday.
Whitehurst told the Tennessean that he’s ready to go.
“Yeah, I think it makes a difference to get the reps,” said Whitehurst, whose last start was for the Seahawks in the final game of the 2010 season. “I feel like I’m going to be able to do it if I’m in there.
“Every rep counts, and the more the better, that’s for sure. We worked on different things on different days. So we’re just stacking the bricks, one on top of another right now.”
It would be Whitehurst’s fifth career start for the 1-2 Titans who’ll take on the 1-2 Colts Sunday.
