Steve Williams Takes Shot At Tiger Woods As Adam Scott Wins Bridgestone Invitational

Adam Scott hit all the right shots Sunday in a round that was close to flawless and earned him his first World Golf Championship title.

He celebrated with a caddy who has won quite a few more.

Steve Williams, fired last month by Tiger Woods after a 12-year partnership, felt like a bigger winner when Scott rolled in one last birdie for a 5-under 65 and a four-shot victory in the Bridgestone Invitational.

Williams became part of the show this week, especially since Woods was playing for the first time in nearly three months. Williams took a jab at Woods in an interview off the 18th green by saying that of his 145 wins in his 33 years as a caddie, this WGC title with the affable Australian made it the:

“the greatest week of my caddying in my life.” and “the best win of my life.”

This has all the making of a bad break up and the drama that follows afterwards.  One person who leaves the relationship is quick to claim their new partner is “the best thing since sliced bread”, interesting to see if Williams is playing this same tune a year from now.  Tiger Woods will hear these quotes and must use it to fuel his fire.  Tiger ended +1 and has a quick turnaround with the PGA Championship – Atlanta Athletic Club starting next weekend.

  • Salty much? What has happened to “No Comment”? No one wants an employee who talks to much. Such messy behaviour from men. Caddy should be seen with the bag, not heard giving opinions!

  • While I agree it was in bad taste, as a matter of fact I laughed constantly while easygoing it live, everyone is focusing solely on tiger here. What about greg norman, or raymond floyd? Two world class players, one of which is one of the greatest players ever.

Either way, with the exception of tom watsons old caddy and phil mickelsons caddy, when was the last time you saw an announcer interview the caddy after a win? The media sucks
