Unfortunately this happens almost every week at clubs around the country. It gets a little rowdy inside, someone who has had too much to drink decides to handle their beef by grabbing their gun and shooting recklessly. So many times they never even hit their intended target instead an innocent bystander is shot.
This is exactly what happened to Kordero Hunter. Here are the details.
Kordero Hunter, a 21-year-old sophomore from South Holland, Ill., in suburban Chicago, died at hospital early Friday morning of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, said Ken Betz, director of the Montgomery County coroner’s office in Dayton, in southwest Ohio.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Jason Dashaun Shern in connection with the shooting.
Hunter and a number of other CSU students at the club were innocent bystanders, Dayton police Sgt. Moises Perez said.
“The club was very crowded, and when an argument broke out inside, the club owner broke it up and started escorting some of the people outside,” Perez said. “The owner then saw a woman passing a gun to the shooter, who was outside, and he started shooting into the bar.”
Multiple people were shot and hopefully Shern never sees the outside of a jail again.
Very sad. Thoughts and prayers go out to Kordero’s family and friend.
