Brady took time out during his weekly radio appearance to address all the former Patriots who were being critical of Chad OchoCinco’s complimentary tweet.
Here is what he had to say.
Asked about former Patriots such as Tedy Bruschi criticizing Chad Ochocinco for tweeting about being in awe of the Pats offense and not being more involved, Brady said he’s focused on the players still in uniform.
“And I will say this about all those guys [criticizing Ochocinco], whether it’s Tedy making a comment — and I love Tedy, he’s one of my great friends, and all those guys that have played for us — but honestly, none of those guys have any clue what they’re talking about. They’re outside of the locker room. They don’t know what we’re trying to accomplish. So, with all due respect to all of them and what they’ve accomplished — and like I said, I love them — but they don’t know.
“Everybody can really think what they want to think and say what they want to say, whether that’s about a receiver, a quarterback, a coach, but nobody knows. The only people that it really matters to is the guys inside the locker room. And we support each other. Because we rely on each other. And we count each other. Every single player that’s on our team is being counted on to help us win.”
What Brady is saying in Professional Ether form is that, you no longer play, so stop acting like you know what is going on because you don’t. What was happening with the Patriots in 2004 is not the same as what is going on with the Patriots in 2011. Bruschi and Harrison are living in the past, while Brady is concentrating on the future.
Ocho had another relatively quiet day with just two catches and there is no way of knowing if his role will increase or be the same for the rest of the year.
The most important thing though is he has the support of his teammates, coaches and Patriots fans. At some point they are going to need him and he will have to step up.
If Bruschi or Mr. Steroids Rodney Harrison have a critique keep it on the field, unless they want people to pull out all the skeletons in your closet.
