ESPN has already replaced the controversial Hank Williams Jr. with an unlikely person. Barry Sanders will introduce this Monday’s football game, according to ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz.
No, Barry Williams has not formed a rock group or a cover band that will attempt to fill Hank Williams Jr.’s shoes. Barry will be featured as a retired star from the home team before the game.
“Ok, I admit it,” Barry Sanders tweeted. “I will be at MNF this week and doing the intro.”
“This is the format we’ll likely use the remainder of the season,” Krulewitz said. “We haven’t made any decisions beyond that.”
ESPN found a replacement quick for Williams. Genius idea to promote the game with a retired NFL star from the home team also. They might have trouble when it comes to teams that have no retired stars though. Still hoping for Jay-Z or Kanye to get the nod to write a song in replacement of Williams.
