Some time Charles Barkley say and do things that gets under people’s skin. But he does do some good things from time to time, particularly with charity.
Barkley said Tuesday that if the lockout continues he’s strongly considering donating his analyst salary to charity.
Barkley made the comment on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000, as part of a longer discussion on the lockout.
“I haven’t told anybody, but I’m actually — believe it or not — I’m leaning toward donating it to charity,” he said according to ESPN Chicago. “I don’t think it’s cool for me to take money I haven’t earned.”
Kudos to Charles on that. If the lockout continues he’ll pretty much be getting a check from TNT doing nothing, which doesn’t make any sense. Charles doesn’t like that idea.
“I don’t feel comfortable taking money for not working.”
I’m sure his TNT check will be helpful for some unfortunate people.
