I have to admit I was wrong, it appeared that Hank Williams Jr was only going to be suspended for a week after his controversial statements using a Hitler analogy in the same breath as President Obama.
ESPN has had a change of heart and decided to part ways with Williams completely.
ESPN announced Thursday that Williams will no longer open “Monday Night Football” with “All My Rowdy Friends Are Here for Monday Night” song. The song was pulled from Monday’s Indianapolis-Tampa Bay game after he compared President Obama to Hitler in an interview on FOX News’ “Fox and Friends” Monday morning.
In a statement, ESPN said, “We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams Jr. We appreciate his contributions over the past years. The success of ‘Monday Night Football’ has always been about the games and that will continue.”
Some analogies will always be bad analogies. Any time Hitler or the World Trade Center are brought up it is never going to end well with the person making the analogy.
Regardless if you like or dislike President Obama, he is still the President of the United States and you should have some respect for him. I have made ton of jokes about George Bush and Bill Clinton, but I know better than to use Hitler in any of those jokes. Hank Williams Jr. simply should have used a better analogy.
Remember in this new age media, things aren’t swept under the rug as much and anything you say in any medium can come back to haunt you.

Here is Hank Williams Jr. statement and we aren’t making this up.
“I have made MY decision. … Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE.”
