With the NFL season, college football, and baseball playoffs in full force …do we really care about the NBA Lockout? Not to mention college basketball is right around the corner which will take away some, if not all, the attention away from the league.
As a hoop fan, there surprisingly has not been much concern on this end.
In both professional and college football, the passion to win makes every game exciting. Every time out and every possession is vital. Teams only play one game a week so a win can make or break its playoff hopes.
In the NBA however, teams are scheduled 82 games and most of them don’t show up to play until right before the playoffs. Also, the league lacks high IQ, talented players that have fans watching on the edge of their seats. We are no longer in the Magic, Bird, and Jordan era. Besides Kobe Bryant, who is one year closer to retirement, and possibly Lebron James, who are the fans really in AWE of?
So while we hear rumor after rumor about the lockout, I’ll continue to enjoy football and wait until college hoops gets started.
What are your thoughts on the lockout?
