Just because All-Pro receiver Andre Johnson is out for the big Titans-Texans matchup doesn’t mean that Sunday’s affair will be a peaceful one. Though this is just Week 7 of the NFL Season, this game is MASSIVE for both teams. In a wide open AFC South, the winner of this game will occupy first place in the division all by themselves.
During a Titans-Texans matchup last year, Pro Bowlers Cortland Finnegan and Andre Johnson got into a fistfight on the field that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
But luckily for Finnegan (who took quite a beating), Andre Johnson is out for the game with a hamstring injury. However, Cortland Finnegan is the best corner on the Titans and will line up against Houston’s biggest threat at wide receiver, who in all probability will be Kevin Walter.
Walter, knowing who will cover him on Sunday and the importance of this game, decided to voice his opinion about the Titans Pro Bowl corner and kept it 100% real.
“It’d be pretty cool to have a guy like that on your team because he’s busting his tail every time,” Walter said. “He can be a p***k here and there, but that’s how he plays.”
I’ve watched Kevin Walter play and he’s not a receiver that strikes fear in an opposing defense. However, he is a guy that can make some plays in key moments and is a favorite target of Texans QB Matt Schaub.
Hopefully, he can back up his words or else it’ll be a long flight back to Houston on Sunday afternoon.
