Here is the #1 problem.
Why is Jerry Jones on the sidelines to begin with?
I know he is the Owner of the team and can do whatever he wants, but he isn’t a coach and having him on the sidelines is counter productive and only makes the players uncomfortable.
It was bad enough the Cowboys had blown a 27-3 lead, seeing Jones on the sidelines just emphasized how much they had screwed up. If I was a Cowboys player when I see Jones on the sideline it would either piss me off or send me into a panic, either way it isn’t good.
Romo was clearly upset, I don’t think he intentionally snubbed Jones, but he just didn’t want to hear a bunch of rah rah BS. I am not saying owners can’t be hands on, but when you undermine the coaching staff by hovering over them it is hard for the players to respect the coaches.
This is a problem the Cowboys have had since Jimmy Johnson left the building. Jones thinks he could coach the team and in reality while he is a great owner is certain areas, his arrogance has caused more harm than good with the play on the field. Tony Romo has enough to worry about that appeasing Jerry Jones ego.
