Ashton Kutcher weighs in on Paterno Firing, then Fires himself from Twitter

One of the more popular accounts on Twitter will no longer be controlled by its namesake. After receiving a plethora of angry comments directed his way Wednesday evening about his comments on the firing of Penn State Head Coach Joe Paterno, Ashton Kutcher has decided it to be in his best interest to let his team at Katalyst Media control his Twitter feed, at least for the time being.

Kutcher tweeted: “How dare you fire Joe Pa?” “Insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.”

Kutcher was not aware of the back story before his comments and the majority of his 8.3 million followers hardly approved, prompting him to take down his initial tweets, do some research on the topic, and post these responses:

“Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn’t have full story. #admitwhenYoumakemistakes …”This is an insane story, I just heard Paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now … Wow,” he tweeted. “As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case.”

Whether Kutcher loses more followers from his lack of due diligence or the fact that his fans know his tweets aren’t original is to be determined.

Why is everyone forgetting about the kids that were molested? Do you realize how long they will struggle with the demons that will follow them because of this abuse? Are sports more important than this now young adult’s lives?
