Bob Arum Sends Email to Money Team Saying No Interest in Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

Even though Manny Pacquiao in the records books got the win against Juan Manuel Marquez listening to his team at the post fight press conference they didn’t sound like winners.

It wasn’t so much that they thought they didn’t beat Marquez it was the understanding that Floyd Mayweather is a bigger, faster, more defensive, sharper counterpuncher and Manny would have a ton of problems with him.

Pacquiao is Top Rank’s cash cow and they don’t want to lose that gravy train so I am not surprised they rather do Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4 than Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather’s advisors, and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer both told Monday that they were notified that Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was not interested in coming to the table.

“We have been informed that Bob Arum is not interested in pursuing a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao at this time,” Schaefer said.

Schaefer said the notification came in an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, the mediator who has worked closely with the sides to settle numerous lawsuits and issues in recent years.

“I am sick and tired of Bob Arum twisting the truth. It’s another case of ‘yesterday I was lying, today I’m telling the truth,’ ” Schaefer said, invoking Arum’s most famous quote. “The truth of the matter is that we received this afternoon an email from retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein, who has informed us that Top Rank is pursuing a rematch with Marquez and, therefore, is not interested in immediate talks for a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. This is obviously as clear as it can be that they have no intentions of making a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Therefore, Floyd Mayweather will have no other choice than to move on and identify and lock in another opponent for his ring return on May 5.”

I have said for a long time that the #1 reason a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight wouldn’t happen is Bob Arum.  He is just too stubborn and hot headed to make it happen.

So if you are looking to cast blame, cast blame on him first.

So Pac-Man has a lackluster performance and all of a sudden he will have problems with Mayweather??????????????????????????????????????????

No one was sayin sh*t after Hatton, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, De la hoya, and even Clottey were beaten.

Does anyone remember Mayweather’s last bout?????? Because that fight wasn’t so hot either.

Fuck MMA. I’ve heard that same bullshit for 10 years and UFC still can’t draw over 1 mil on a ppv unless an ex wwe wrestler is the headliner. When they have guys making 20 to 30 million a fight let me know.
