As I told you this weekend, don’t believe any of the denials that Urban Meyer was giving.
Also I noted while nothing was signed at the time, it is very likely that Urban Meyer would be the next coach of the Buckeyes barring any unforeseen setback.
It appears now that it is official.
Former University of Florida coach Urban Meyer has agreed in principle to a seven-year, $40 million deal to become the new coach of Ohio State, according to a WKMG-TV report Tuesday night, which cited sources.
The report said Meyer, 47, would be introduced in the coming days.
The sources said Meyer would bring a number of Florida’s current assistant coaches with him, including Gators linebackers coach D.J. Durkin, who would become defensive coordinator.
Personally I am not a fan of Meyer, but as a football coach his record speaks for itself. As an Alum of The Ohio State University, I hope that he restores Ohio State back to National Championship contention and defeats of Michigan.
They are paying him a ton of money, so I will expect him to deliver.
