Before Victor Ortiz was hit with the two piece and a biscuit from Floyd Mayweather he was involved in the fight of the year with Andre Berto.

It was this fight with Berto that allowed him to be in position to get a fight with Mayweather.

Once it became clear Ortiz wasn’t going to get his rematch with Mayweather the most lucrative fight available was with Berto.  The contracts have been signed and the fight is set to go on Showtime.

It was a little surpringly the fight ended up on Showtime since most of Berto and Ortiz’s major fights have been on HBO, but with Showtime changing over to a new leadership you may see bigger fighters deciding to go over to Showtime, something to look out for in 2012.

  2. I seldom comment, but after reading some of the comments here Victor Ortiz vs. Andre Berto 2 To Be Shown on Showtime | Robert Littal Presents BlackSportsOnline. I do have a couple of questions for you if it’s allright. Is it just me or do some of the responses come across as if they are written by brain dead individuals? 😛 And, if you are posting at additional online sites, I would like to follow you. Would you post a list of all of all your social networking sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
