I figured since everyone will be talking about The Starter God, I would make sure the others who deserve praise (or scorn) get it.
Give Broncos Kicker Matt Prater a ton of credit. You might recall (probably not) Prater is the kicker that was busted for a DUI while leaving a stripper stranded in a hotel lobby.
Sometimes people take kickers for granted and you only notice them is when they miss, but make no mistake 50+ yard field goals aren’t easy to make.
I don’t care if they were in Denver a 59 yard field goal with the game on the line rarely succeeds but Prater drilled it. He followed that up with a 51 yard field goal in OT to win it. If he messes either we wouldn’t be talking about Tebow right now.
The Broncos defense goes without saying have been very good for the most part during this Tebow’s run. Playing against Caleb Hanie at home holding the Bears to 10 points was expected, but they made big plays to give the a Broncos chance to complete their comeback.
Lastly there is Marion Barber who more than anyone was responsible victory.
He inexplicably allowed himself to be pushed out of bounds, when falling to the ground would have essentially won the game for Bears.
Then in OT after making what appeared to be a redeeming catch, he fumbles on what could have been the winning scoring run (or at least put Bears in field goal range).
Going to be a long flight back to Chicago for Barber.
