A few years ago, this same player rushed for 2,000 yards in a season. The fact that he is struggling for 1,000 yards going into Week 17 is insane.
The Titans have a big game this weekend as they travel to Houston to face the No. 3 seed Texans. Every Titan should be motivated because with a win and a Cincy loss to Baltimore, the Titans have a great chance to grab the No. 6 wild card seed (they still need some more help).
However, a particular player running back Chris Johnson, has 300,000 reasons to have a big game in Houston:
There’s more than a playoff berth on the line for running back Chris Johnson against the Texans. The game could be worth $300,000 to him.
In the four-year extension he signed in April was a clause that stated his 2012 salary would decrease from $8 million to $7.7 million if he failed to reach 1,000 yards in 2011. He needs 14 yards on Sunday to reach 1,000 for the season.
I actually think CJ will get the necessary yardage to get his money. After all, the money is the motive.
