Haven’t heard much from Donovan McNabb since he was benched in favor of Christian Ponder, but he may have one last shot for glory. There are several NFL teams in dire of a veteran quarterback and it appears D Mac will hit the waiver wire soon.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that McNabb will be released today.
The move will spark another game of waiver-wire bluff, in which any interested team much submit a claim for the balance of his one-year contract. The team with the highest priority will acquire his services.
The Bears have waiver wire priority over the Texans, so don’t be surprised if McNabb ends up in Chicago murdering gophers at Solider Field for the stretch run.
