Greg Oden Signa One Year $8.9 Million Deal With Blazers | Robert Littal Presents BlackSportsOnline

Greg Oden Will Sign a One Year $8.9 Million Deal to Stay With Blazers

Greg Oden is a nice a guy and I am not mad at him for collecting checks, but the Blazers should have never given him a qualifying offer, they should have let him go.

They have given millions to Oden for basically nothing.  It is time to cut the cord, but instead Oden gets a nice little pay day for another year.

Greg Oden will be a member of the Portland Trailblazers for one more season. The often-injured center will sign the one-year, $8.9 million qualifying offer to stay with the Blazers next season, agent Bill Duffy confirmed to Jason Quick of the Oregonian. Oden will become an unrestricted free agent next season.

Here is the crazy part.  If Oden somehow gets healthy and has a decent season he can leave the Blazers and cash out somewhere else.  Knowing the Trailblazers luck that is exactly what will happen.

  1. If he has a good season then at least they’ll have gotten that out of him. But he seems to be destined to have a Sam Bowie type career.
