Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Wednesday evening after a shooting took place in a neighborhood in his native Alabama.
McClain, a second-year pick out of Alabama, was reportedly at the scene of a fight when gunshots went off, according to the Decatur Police Department. He was later placed under arrest as part of the investigation.
“I can tell you that Rolando McClain is under arrest,” said Lt. John Crouch of the Decatur Police Department. “He’s been charged with third degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits. He is still in custody.”
Officers who responded to the call say only one man was injured in the altercation. The man reportedly drove himself to the emergency room and told police that McClain followed him to his car after the fight and put a gun to his head and then McClain held the gun to the victim’s ear before firing it.
In January, while in Alabama, McClain had his car shot at while driving in Decatur. He was uninjured in the incident.
McClain is currently being held in a Decatur Jail on $2,000 bond.
