The Knicks are realizing what most people already knew, that Amar’e and Carmelo aren’t a very good fit together.
They have two options.
Tried to ride it out, until they get better complementary players to help them out or get rid of one of them. It appears they are at least discussing the latter.
The Philadelphia 76ers have inquired about New York Knicks big man Amar’e Stoudemire, according to CSNPhilly.com.
The talks are said to be preliminary at this time, but with the Knicks struggling and Philadelphia a surprising 14-6, the deal could free up some space on the New York payroll. Stoudemire signed a five-year, $100 million contract prior to the 2010-11 season.
If I was the Knicks, I would hold off on dumping Amar’e, unless it was an offer they couldn’t refuse. If they are going to trade him, they need to offer him up to the highest bidder, not the first team that are interested.
