Part of playing Safety in the NFL is about being able to cover slot receivers and tight ends.
You need to have some fluidity in your movements to do this. That is why the best safeties in the game Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu can both cover and tackle.
We know that Laron Landry can hit, but he misses a lot of tackles going for knock out blows and he isn’t that great in coverage.
Could this be the reason why?
Could this also be the reason Landry can’t stay healthy. If you are that muscular you will be prone to popping tendons and joints while you are running around on the field.
He looks more like a body builder than someone who can cover Miles Austin.
If I am Redskin fan this would be alarming to me and I would expect more injuries and blown coverages from Landry in 2012.
