Before I get to Derrick Rose, why in the Blue Hell are the Lakers even considering doing this trade?
Carlos Boozer in no shape, form or fashion helps them. If this is the big move the Lakers are contemplating they need to reevaluate things.
For the Bulls, it would be a great move as Gasol would be a great complement to Derrick Rose. Rose definitely has the juice if he is being advised on possible player movement by management. Might make him the most powerful player in the league because even the biggest stars aren’t consulted on possible trades.
Derrick Rose has let it be known to Bulls management that we wants to play with Pau Gasol if Chicago is able to swing a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for the veteran power forward from Spain, a source close to Rose told SheridanHoops.com on Sunday.
“He hasn’t said so publicly, but he has made that known privately,” said the source, who spoke to SheridanHoops.com on condition of anonymity.
If the Bulls were willing to surrender backup point guard C.J. Watson in a Boozer-Gasol deal, it would address the Lakers’ need for a young, steady point guard to buttress their current rotation of Derek Fisher and Steve Blake.
C.J. Watson is a decent point guard, but not worth giving up Gasol for Boozer.
If they are that determined to get rid of Gasol, they should revist the Minnesota trade offer of Derrick Williams who is a younger and has far more potential that what you get with Boozer.
You can not trust a player with Spray Paint hair in the playoffs.
