It doesn’t appear the Steelers are going to franchise Wallace, so he would be come a restricted free agent. What that means is any team can sign him to a contract.
The Steelers could match the offer or decline to match and get a 1st round pick in return.
I think Wallace would be a perfect fit for the Patriots who have two 1st round picks in this years draft. I think they should make the move.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace made an appearance on SiriusXM Radio on Wednesday per NFL.com, and he stated that he would be interested in playing for the New England Patriots or the San Francisco 49ers.
“Most definitely. Those are two playoff-caliber teams. Super Bowl-caliber teams,” said Wallace.s. “I think that the right person or the right piece for those guys could put them over the top. All they need is one more piece … most definitely, those are Super Bowl-contending teams.”
Later on in the interview, Wallace did say that he loves being a part of the Steelers.
“I wouldn’t want to go anywhere and leave the situation where I am at with a great quarterback, a great organization or go somewhere where I don’t feel like I could succeed.”
