I am a little surprised that Gilbert hasn’t gotten a gig yet.

All reports are that he is in good shape and recovered nicely from his Kobe Style knee surgeries.  Maybe, teams don’t want to deal with the drama that is Gilbert Arenas, but he is good a look from the Grizzlies.

Free agent guard Gilbert Arenas is slated to work out for the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, league sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher.

The Grizzlies are looking to beef up their scoring as they seek a return to the postseason. Memphis entered play Sunday in fifth place in the Western Conference.

Arenas hopes to sign a deal with Memphis that would keep him under contract for the duration of the season, while the Grizzlies originally were interested in him on a 10-day contract, a source told the Memphis Commerical Appeal.

Work out went well, Grizzlies are prepared to sign him.

Free agent guard Gilbert Arenas worked out for the Grizzlies this morning and the team is preparing to sign him to a deal for the rest of this season, according to sources close to the process.

Arenas appeared slender and shot the ball well during the workout. He is scheduled to take a physical this afternoon. All that would remain is for Arenas to pass the physical and agree to a prorated veteran’s minimum contract requiring the Griz to pay about $300,000.
