Yesterday we reported that Alex Smith was considering changing agents because Tom Condon because he also represents 49ers target Peyton Manning, representing a conflict of interest.

Now comes this interesting nugget from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

What does this mean for Matt Flynn? Does this mean Peyton is a lock to go to San Francisco? Is it just a jilted Alex Smith taking a cross country flight, listening to Drake, while he gets in tune with his feelings? Or is it just a case of the Dolphins doing their due diligence and exploring every acorn that falls to the ground?

Being in Miami, I can tell you that Alex Smith will not excite this fan base and will make the cries for the heads of Jeff Ireland and Stephen Ross even louder. Does not matter what other pieces they sign, if this regime doesn’t get new Coach Joe Philbin his potential franchise quarterback, there will be a lot of orange seats available at Sun Life next season.
