The Bills just handed Stevie Johnson a $36.5 million contract and he went out to celebrate with his boys in LA.
He does a nice thing by giving the Bills a shout out for the cash.
One minor concern, when the TMZ guy asked him about being money conscious because as we have seen athletes can go broke fairly quickly once their careers are over, Johnson had an interesting quote.
Stevie continued, “I’m in a comfortable position right now … I can take care of everybody now … I can take care of the family now.”
Johnson says the NFL has prepped him about how to be responsible with his fortune … but as Stevie puts it, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make that b*tch drink.”
I think a lot of athletes are like that. They are giving the tools to be financially responsible, doesn’t mean they are going to do it.
Hopefully Johnson hasn’t predicted his own future downfall.
