70% of Miami Heat Championship Merchandise Orders Being Placed Outside of Florida

Funny how Ring Protection changes public perception.

Fans who claimed to hate the Heat are now twisting their ankles to jump on the Championship Bandwagon.

In the first 12 hours following the Heat’s victory Thursday in Game 5, sales of NBA merchandise equaled nearly all of last year’s total sales in the first 24 hours following the Dallas Mavericks’ championship, according to Fanatics, a licensed retailer of sports merchandise.

A spokesman for Fanatics said early sales are the strongest in years for NBA championships gear on the e-commerce sites it powers, including NBAStore.com, Fanatics.com and FansEdge.com.

By the end of Friday, revenues from merchandise sales were expected to surpass seven figures, exceeding sales following the L.A. Lakers’ championship in 2010.

Interestingly, about 70 percent of orders are being shipped outside of Florida, which belies the common belief that most of the country was against the Heat.

  • I think this shows that either you..or the rest of the country never really understood WHY or WHO really was against Lebron. Because if you did you’d know by now that MOST of the heat fans were outside of Mimi in the first place. So its absolutely no surprise at all that 70% of Mia’s Championship gear orders are coming from outside of Miami. Miami is probably in the top 5 of worst sports fans and towns anyway so what did you expect?

  • Yankee fitted caps.

  • Let’s be correct here and not foolish miami is and will not ever be apart of the top 5 worst sports towns. Unlike a city like los angeles, new york, boston or chicago who constantly get good players on their sports teams miami doesn’t always get good players for their teams. Still miami has yet to be in the top 10 or worst attendance in the nba in nearly 17 years why is that because the fans show up. Even though the miami heat 07-08 was by far the worse title defense team in league history fans still showed up. even though two years later the heat only won 15 games fans still showed up. even though pat riley made us suffer fans showed up. And miami unlike most cities are occupied by plenty of outer state folks who only temporarily stay in miami who also have plenty of money so plenty of the true miami heat fans can’t afford the tickets to the games because out of state visitors i shall call them purchase the vast majority of the tickets. Terrence you’re an idiot and it shows so piss off to you and where ever you come from.

  • I don’t even know the way I stopped up here, but I thought this put up was once good. I do not recognize who you’re but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger should you aren’t already.
