Tim Bradley vs Manny Pacquiao is not the only match up between a black guy and a Filipino going on tonight. Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals has the same scenario, pitting Celtic’s Coach Doc Rivers against the Miami Heat’s Erik Spoelstra.
Now it has been reported that Pac has said the fight will not start until after the conclusion of game 7 because he is reportedly a fan of the Boston Celtics. When asked about this, his countryman Spoelstra took a good-natured rib at Pac.
“Manny, you’re making it very tough on me. I’ve got to get confirmation from Freddy Roach. Otherwise, I’ve got to root for Bradley.”
For a guy who is prone to cliches and coachspeak (by design) it is interesting to note that Spoelstra seems loose before a game that could mark the beginning of the end if he should lose. Oddly enough, the same could be said for Pacquiao.
As for an official prediction, only 1 Filipino will come out victorious tonight, and it will be the one in the suit.
