I never got the impression that Jerry Jones wanted to cut Terrell Owens. He was a very productive player for the Cowboys during his time there.
What happened was they overpaid for Roy Williams and Tony Romo got into his feelings.
Quarterbacks feelings will always win out over Wide Receivers feelings regardless of who is right or wrong. So, I do believe Jerry Jones is sincere when he says these words.
“He really can reach out to me at any time, because I consider him a friend,” Jones said, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I would feel good if he reached out. I think that he really, without having first-hand knowledge, of what kind of physical condition he is in, I know he has the right stuff and he could help someone.
Jones said his team does not have plans to add to its wide receiving corps. So, while he isn’t offering a job, he does sound genuine in his desire to lend advice – if asked – to Owens.
This is actually a nice gesture by Jones and T.O. would be wish to give him a call, maybe he can pull some strings for him.
