The last two years the perception of Russell Westbrook has varied game by game. Some thinks he shoots too much, some think he is a very selfish player and needs to defer to the real superstar on the team Kevin Durant.

Westbrook is a vital part of the success for the Thunder. Westbrook has is listed as a point guard, but really he is a points guard. Westbrook needs to be aggressive in order to take the pressure off of Durant and to keep the defense honest.

Russell Westbrook (0) shut down Tony Parker in the Western Conference Finals The game that Westbrook plays is a power game and his explosiveness causes opponents to fear his powerful penetration. Westbrook does not care what the outside media and fans think about his game. What he does careabout is the results on the floor.

Westbrook does have the respect of his teammates in the locker room. He is a great free throw shooter and does have ability to forget about negative plays and push forward to making great plays for the Thunder.

 For the second year the Thunder has advance deeper in the playoffs then they have in previous years while in Oklahoma City. Westbrook always is attacking the baskets and at times hit the floor really hard, if he can remain healthy he will be the key ingredient for the a Championship for the Thunder.
