I am positive at some point this case will be featured on Discover ID.
This is a fine piece of detective work, maybe Batman was working the case, because I am impressed.
Boxer Martin Tucker’s victory in a bout in Toledo in April led to his arrest on bank robbery charges after the FBI retrieved incriminating DNA material from a Q-Tip that he used after sustaining a bloody nose, The Detroit Newsreports.
An FBI lab matched Tucker’s DNA to genetic material from a black mask worn by one of the robbers of a Monroe, Mich., credit union in 2009, according to a criminal complaint, the newspaper reports.
DNA samples first led authorities to a convicted bank robber, Quentin Sherer, who was arrested and indicted in the case.
Then the FBI spotted Tucker’s picture on Sherer’s Facebook page, noting that he fit the description of the second robber, according to the complaint.
Looking into this background, they noted that Tucker was a pro boxer — with an upcoming bout.
That’s when FBI Special Agent Robert Schmitz decided to take a seat at ringside, The News reports.
