I like many others caught the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises and just like everyone else as I got out of the theater I was shocked that the conversation wasn’t about the movie, but the tragedy that happened in Colorado.
The scary part was that it could have been any movie theater in the country. No one would expect something like this to happen.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends of the people who have died and have been injured.
Zach Golditch, a 6-5, 260-pound offensive tackle from Aurora, Colo., and a Colorado State recruit for the class of 2013, was one of millions of people who went to midnight showings of The Dark Knight on Thursday.
But instead of a night of entertainment, Golditch was caught up in a senseless tragedy.
A University of Colorado graduate student, James Holmes, opened fire on the audience at an Aurora movie theater, killing 12 and wounding approximately 50 more.
Fort Collins Coloradoan sportswriter and columnist Matt Stephens was the first to report that Golditch was one of the wounded. Stephens also said that one other CSU player was at the theater.
