I have nothing against Chris Broussard.
Don’t know him, so have any personal feelings toward him one way or another. With that being saying he did some suspect things the other day in regard to Deron Williams and Eric Gordon free agent moves.
The Deron Williams thing was just funny (tweeting he had sources saying Williams was going to the Nets after Williams had announced it himself).
The Eric Gordon situation was more troubling.
the Phoenix Suns announced they had signed Hornets guard Eric Gordon to a four-year, $58 million offer sheet. How did we all find out? Gordon released a prepared statement:
“After visiting the Suns, the impression the organization made on me was incredible,” Gordon said in a prepared statement. “Mr. Sarver, Lon Babby, Lance Blanks, the front office staff and Coach Gentry run a first-class organization, and I strongly feel they are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is now.”
That was posted at 7:20 pm Pacific time. This is Broussard seven minutes later, from his iPad:
Eric Gordon and the Phoenix Suns agree to a Maximum Offer sheet worth $58 million over 4 years, sources said.

Eric Gordon told me this: “I strongly feel (the Suns) are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is.”

It was pretty obvious he lifted quotes from a press release and acted like it was insider information. This isn’t uncommon and I didn’t even think it was post worthy, because I know plenty of people who have done this in the past, but then Broussard left this message on his Twitter account.
I have a problem with that.
Don’t high horse because you at best made yourself look like you had exclusive info when you didn’t and it worse blatantly lied about having a source when your source was Twitter.
No one is hating on you, they are correcting your work and asking specific questions on how you have an exact quote from a press release and pretended it was a personal conversation.
Basically Broussard is trying to flaunt his “vacation” in fans and the media who is questioning him faces. The facts are his isn’t the only person who can go to the Caribbean, this isn’t that special.
Stop acting like you beyond criticisms because you aren’t and don’t think we can read between the lines that your “vacation” came right after you screwed up and embarrassed ESPN. My sources say your vacation was voluntary.
Instead of being salty, how about addressing the fact your sources aren’t any different than the fan who can Google or has Twitter.
Enjoy your vacation my sources says it is hot there and the beach has signed a max deal with the ocean.
