Hope Solo may be one of the best in the world defending a soccer goal, but taking criticism isn’t one of her attributes.
Solo fired off a series of tweets after commentator Brandi Chastain, former US women’s soccer player was a little too critical for Solo’s taste. “It’s 2 bad we cant have commentators that better represent the team&know the game better” tweeted Solo.
Team captains and coach Pia Sundhage met after arriving in Manchester and the meeting focused on keeping a positive image for the team. The team faces North Korea Tuesday.
All in all its much ado about nothing… an athlete doesn’t like what a commentator has to say. Considering the 3-0 beatdown the women put on Colombia, I can kinda see Solo’s point.
Meanwhile, Brandi Chastain isn’t phased by the tweets or the media. “I’m here to do my job and be an objective journalist.” Chastain answered when asked about Solo’s comments.
Bottom line, make sure you tune in Tuesday for the USA-North Korea match and make sure you live tweet the event.
