After an exciting weekend at Daytona International Speedway, four NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers earned their spot on a path to fast cash. Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Michael Annett, Austin Dillon and Elliott Sadler were the highest finishing Nationwide Series drivers in Saturday’s Subway Jalapeño 250 which served as the Dash 4 Cash qualifier.
Now, these four drivers, all ranking in the top six in points, will go head-to-head at the Dash 4 Cash kickoff at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to secure a $1,000 payout at the finish line. If they play their cards right, they could walk away with $1,000,000 at Iowa Speedway in the Dash 4 Cash finale on August 4.
Current points leader Elliott Sadler, driver of the #2 OneMain Financial Chevrolet, could be in trouble this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With Austin Dillon, driver of the #3 Bas Pro Shops Chevrolet and 2011 NASCAR Camping World Tuck Series Champion, trailing by only two points, every second will prove crucial for both teams.
Taking the Dash 4 Cash competition up another notch, driver of the #43 Pilot Flying J Ford, Michael Annett has been a consistent performer this season. Currently sixth in points, Annett is coming off of a strong top 3 finish last weekend at Daytona International Speedway. With a 7th place finish last year at New Hampshire, his performance this weekend could cause a shake in point standings.
And don’t forget about Ricky Stenhouse Jr.! Finishing highest of the four drivers at last year’s New Hampshire Motor Speedway race, he may be the one to watch for during the F.W. Webb 200 this weekend. The 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion and driver of the #6 NOS Energy Drink Ford is only 18 points behind Sadler and Dillon, making the competition even more intense for the remaining Dash 4 Cash races.
