Joe Johnson Says He’s a Bringing Title to Brooklyn Soon Because His Swagmeter at 9 1/2

Joe Johnson was in Atlanta for like 34 years and I can’t recall one quote from him during his time there. He has been in Brooklyn for less than a week and he has been talking non stop since he has been signed.

Must be a NYC thing.

No Guts, No Glory has the Swagish quotes.

Q: Why did you say the Nets are better than the Knicks?

A: The Brooklyn Nets have to have swag, and it starts with confidence. You can’t go out hoping and wishing, but you have to know and feel that way before you take the court. I think we should all feel that we’re a pretty good damn team.

Q: On a scale of 1-10, where are you on the swagmeter?

A: 9 … 9 ¹/₂. Maybe I should be a bit more rah-rah, outgoing and talkative, but it’s really not me.

Q: How long will it take for you to help bring a championship to Brooklyn?

A: Honestly, not long. I think we got some great pieces to put us in position to win a title, honestly. … This could be probably the best team I’ve ever played on.

I wonder is this how he going to talk to the judge in his child custody case?

  1. Is he for real? He was in ATL all those years and they still had an empty stadium, the Nets in Brooklyn haven’t even debuted yet and he’s trash talking? Oh, just wait until NY media gets a hold of him. Like Bart Scott, “CAN’T WAIT!”
